Letter code, and how to remove oil pressure relief valve
How you remove the oil pressure relief plunger? I have the cap and spring out, plunger won't come out. I tried a magnet, but no luck.

Re: engine stands
I got lucky. Finally removed the crank from the block, and removed the bolts off the back of the flywheel. Everything came out fine, and the bolts look to be okay- the clutch disc didn't do much damage to the bolts.

Re: engine stands
Well, then, I have a story to tell. When the truck was owned by the City of Hampton Roads, they put a clutch in. When they installed the clutch, they put the disc in backwards, so that the shoulder was rubbing on said bolts. I had been driving the truck for about a year, and had no problems. While a...

engine stands
Okay, how did the military work on these engines? It looks like you can't put a engine stand on the rear with the flywheel attached. And the flywheel is a bear to remove unless you pull the crank, as the fly wheel has studs that are bolted to the flange 0n the rear of the crank. I don't see how the ...

Pulling the flathead 6
I need to pull my engine and transmission to freshen up the flathead. She has a serious leak from the front of the oil pan, and number one's lifters have a serious click when running. My question so far is this- Does the accelerator linkage come out with the engine and transmission after you disconn...

Re: Starter motor removal
Well, the starter motor is off the truck. Just for info, you do have to 1) move the oil filter out of the way, 2) REMOVE the oil dipstick tube, and 3)REMOVE the distributor. I hope that the dodge engineer that designed the starter motor mounts rots in hell, and has to remove and replace all the star...

Starter motor removal
So just how much of my M37 will I have to take off to remove the starter? I have already moved the oil filter out of the way, and the starter motor is loose, but know it looks like I will have to remove the distributor also? Can this be true?

Re: Inner Axle Seals
Flange sealer will do you no good. The seal has to slide 1.5" to the seat, and any sealer you put on will just wipe off. Have you considered replacing the inner bronze bushings? This would be a good time to do it.

Re: brake line vent hose
You have to have a vent for the MC to work properly. I had the same problem, and solved it by running my vent up the left frame rail, as stock, then making a 90º bend, and going straight up towards the genny, to almost the top of the fender, where I made another 90º, and pointed the end of the tubin...

Re: Replacing front axle inner seal
I reset the seals Saturday, and rebuilt both sides of the front axle. All I have left to do is the backing plates, and finish packing the hubs(inner wheel bearing is already installed)
