Passenger Seat Locating Peg Photo??

Post by ashyers »

Does anyone have a close up of the peg that locates the front corners of the passenger seat? I've recently discovered it's pretty important! If I have a decent photo I should be able to make a replacement. Thanks!

Hi Andy,
Sure do-scroll away:

Gary

P.S.-I've since added a 2nd peg to mine for extra stability, using a long bolt, drilling through, passing it up from underneath, welding it in place then cutting off the excess. I can post those pix later today if you need them....

Gary,
Is it just spot welded to the top surface? I see marks on our truck from some spot welds, but no holes.

Yes, it's just spot welded. In fact, mine recently fell off.

Thanks Chris. I suspect the ones on our truck fell off decades ago!

Sorry I didn't get back to this-still laying sod in the yard (see my other post in the Soap Box section); but yes, originally tacked on top-my addition included a full weld around the top circumference as well as tacking the underside for added strength-I'll add those photos this afternoon.

Gary,
I spotted the sod photos. Be careful with your back! I look forward to the photos.

Thanks Guys!
I can see why they come off. I think we're going to make some spuds and thru bolt them from the back side.

On a side note I drove the truck home today, 11 miles. From what I can tell it's the first time it's turned a wheel on the street in a decade or two. I survived, it survived, but the cheesy muffler epoxy the PO applied burned up on the 1st hill. OHHHHH did it stink! Getting used to driving the truck will be interesting, I've never driven anything quite like it!
