Re: Slave cable questions
Secure the assy in a vise. Select a punch that fits snug inside the female terminal, tap both lead terminals out of the rubber insulator. Heat to remove terminal from cable. Thread new cable through the insulator, strip insulation and install terminals by soldering onto cable. Install the terminals...

Re: Slave cable questions
Hey Guys,
We had a bad lightning storm last night so I wasn't able to get all of the pictures. I'll have them tonight - comments are welcome too as I would hate to screw it up and burn down my hard work.
Length appears correct on the new assembly - it was one of the last things I got from Sid

Re: Slave cable questions
Hi Tim and Gary,
I have a new slave cable assembly that I need to install along with my battery cables. Since I have the front tires/fender liners off I will take some measurements and photos tonight - should be able to get some clear pictures that way.

Re: Parts Washer Solvent
Hi David, I have one of the inexpensive models from Harbor Freight and have been using cheap mineral spirits in it for 5 years with no problems. The antique tractor guys I work with swear by adding some ATF to make it work better and easier on the hands - it does seem to help. The best modification ...

When I have taken LAV rims apart, I use a tooth on my backhoe bucket to press it down. Only way I have figured to get the runflats out is to reach in with a sawsall and cut it in half, and corkscrew it out of the tire. There is just enough room in between the tire casing and the runflat to carefull...

Re: 1100x16 tube and flap source
Yep - ITT only had two of the correct stems in the short configuration as well. I am a little concerned that the long stems will hang out too far and get snagged. Thanks for the suggestions guys.Tanner wrote:Be sure that you can get the proper stem in the tubes.

1100x16 tube and flap source
Hi Everyone, I am in the process of mounting Michelin XL 1100x16 tires on the stock rims and am having a problem finding the correct tube and flap. I just spoke with International Tire & Tube in Houston TX and bought what stock they had. Does anyone have any other leads for the tubes and flaps? ...

http://www.tptools.com/ I got the blasting gun I use now from this place. I'll second TP Tools - I purchased one of their cabinets used several years ago and recently went through the pick up tube, hose, and gun to replace the wear parts. I have been using the steel nozzles but may switch to cerami...

If you are in or near farm country, might try the ag supply type stores for the 30w Rotella - our local Napa carries it and I run it in the '49 Farmall Cub as well as the garden tractors. 10-4 on the Rotella synthetic - my wife's TDI has been running on it for 7 yrs and the oil analysis always looks...

After crunching the numbers the other week, before gas rose another 20 cents, I was already looking at nearly 4 bills in gas, hotel, food, tolls ect. and that was for one day checking out the show and a nights stay. I live just far enough that a day trip is out of the question. Then there is the $1...
