Re: Coolant in exhaust
Rn the truck a couple of more times and as of last night it appears there is no coolant in the exhaust. So hopefully this was just coolant spilled in the exhaust. Thanks all for the replies. Will post again once the truck passes inspection and I can road test it.

Re: Coolant in exhaust
I did use sealant and as it seems to be less each time i start it I am thinking i'll see if it clears up. I'll keep an eye on coolant level and the oil.

Re: Coolant in exhaust
I replaced them due to an exhaust leak and obvious exhaust blowby on the engine block. I followed these steps pretty much. There is a lot less steam now compared to when i first started it. When i removed the a couple of the long bolts and one read stud that was stripped i did have a lot of coolant ...

Coolant in exhaust
Hi I recently changed the exhaust gaskets on the truck and after completing it I now have coolant in the exhaust. Major smokescreen going on. This wasn't the case before and all i did was change the gaskets. I was surprised that some of the studs went into the water jacket and sealed those as per a ...

New hesitation problem....
Hi All, Started the truck today and when puling the throttle out I felt something weird (like it hit something). Pushed it back in and out again and no issue. Started as per normal but the truck sounded really rough (like an exhaust leak). Idled fine and let it warm up. Driving it to go get an inspe...

Re: Turn Signals not working
I have redone all the grounds and replaced bulbs. I checked all connections and cleaned and reconnected. I have lights in all the right places but no flashing.

Turn Signals not working
Hi All, Just getting around to checking a few things on the truck prior to inspection. I have turn signal lights but no flash. The lights work left and right but they don't blink. I assume that if the signal stalk works enough to activate left and right then the problem is likely the relay. The rela...

Re: Losing fuel prime
Fixed. The screw that mounts the choke tube bracket assembly to the carb body was stripped and allowing the bracket to move instead of closing the choke plate. Replaced with a larger screw and tightened the bracket. Choke plate moves now instead of the bracket. Starts like a charm. Little throttle a...

Re: Losing fuel prime
I noticed the choke doesn't fully close by pulling the knob because there is movement in the bracket on the carb. If I manually close the cable from the carb side the bracket slightly moves and the choke plate moves a bit more. The truck starts cold no problem if i do this. It appears the choke cabl...

Re: Losing fuel prime
pulled that non original bolt and used a probe to feel for the choke plate. It is there and it does move when the choke cable is pulled. I can't tell if it is fully closed and there is some slack in the cable if i pull the choke knob vs manually open the choke at the carb body. I assume the choke pl...

Re: Losing fuel prime
The choke appears to work just fine. Moves back and forth when pulled. Here is a pic of the carb and the screw i had to remove to add fuel. According to the manual i have this is called the "main vent tube".

Re: Losing fuel prime
ok. Bit more info to hopefully help me out here. I have tried every combo of throttle/choke and still no start without a prime after sitting for a couple of hours. So if i add a dribble of gas in the main vent tube it fires off no problem. I have fuel to the pump, fuel in the bowl of the carb but af...

Re: Losing fuel prime
I tried the starting procedure as suggested. Truck started fine a couple of times and now won't start at all. I have fuel in the carb, i have spark on the plugs but still no start. I am topping up the batteries but any other suggestions? Nothing else has changed. Thoughts?

Re: Losing fuel prime
Float bowl has fuel. Still need to throw a little down the air cleaner elbow. Fires right up after that.
