M151 heater install
Just finished up welding up the bracket and installing the M151 heater. Didn't like the under glove box location because it took up leg room and the air supply was on the wrong side for the original diverter box. Removal of the steering column bracket allowed for the installation above the steering ...

Re: Looking for a OHIO M-37 owner??????
Gary, Sorry if you misunderstood my post. I did not say the count is climbing. Yes, the registration is closed and has been since soon after the Dayton convention. We are experiencing some drop-outs for several reasons including medical. The entire convoy will consume at least 5 weeks including trav...

Re: Looking for a OHIO M-37 owner??????
Yep, guilty as charged on all accounts. Two new batteries and replaced the 25 amp generator with a self regulated 60 amp. Now the truck is up and running. Tough place for a truck that will require some tinkering. Not too many friendlies in that part of town. You'd think someone would be willing to g...

Heater diverter box help
I am installing the standard defroster and heater diverter box. It seems that there will be a clearance problem with the hose exiting from the top of the diverter box and the cowl vent screen. The instructions don't mention any clearance issues. What has anyone else done?

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, Army truck..
How's the inside sheet metal on your hardtop. I'm getting ready to make a new set for mine. The front piece above the windshield was only half there. The top was stuffed full of fiberglass and it doesn't seem to have been painted before assembly. The insulation just held in the moisture. I think I'l...

Re: Steering box rebuild
Better yet, chucked the worm shaft in the lathe and rounded the shaft with a file. The new plate with seal just slipped right on with a 1/4 turn and a little oil. Must have had it off and on half-a-dozen times figuring out the shims with no damage.

Re-install of steering column jacket
Both of the M37s in my shop that still have their steering columns in have the slit for the jacket clamp facing upward. Seems like any water under the fender is going to run right in. Is the correct position facing down?

Re: Stuck Lug Nuts...
Ditto on the wrong studs. I had one right-handed on the left front of mine. Didn't figure it out until I had jumped on the end of a 10' pipe over my 3/4" breaker bar. Sure was tight, but it came off once I figured er out! Someone must have broken one and just used what they had. Once you get th...

Clutch question
Drove 140 miles each way to the Ohio Motorpool meeting Saturday and began to have trouble getting into gear. After a couple hours on the road, the transmission did not want to go into gear leaving a stop. I have the correct free play in the clutch, NP420 trans loaded with Synergyn 50 wt racing. I'm ...

Re: Tire mounting suggestions anyone?
Got the tires mounted yesterday, did it myself, very easy. A little air in the inner tube to insert into the tire, then the boot. Used some tire mounting lube on the beads. The split ring went on easy with a 2x4 and 3 lb sledge. I used two 3" ratchet straps around the tire, then inflated. The t...

Re: Arctic top removal
There are J and U bolts in the back and bolts all across the front (above the wipers and in the center). Mine was also secured with bolts drilled through the back of the cab. A wonder bar or two used on the back corners should get it worked loose. My original had some sort of tar looking sealer arou...
