reduction starter

Post by 52nblue »

Hi,my nane is mike and I just wanted to say I just installed my new 12 volt reduction starter purchased from Charles talbert at m series rebuild. Works great, quiet and spins engine over faster than the 24 volt starters on my other m 37s. The starter drive marys up perfect with the ring gear. Took about 20 minutes to install . I couldn't be happier. Itried a 6 voit starter and it engaged about 80 percent of the time, not good. This was the answer to my problem. Special thanks goes out to Charles for helping me with this problem mike

Thank you for your complements. I tried to post a bigger picture but it would not let me download. I bought the truck on left and it was 100 percent complete ,it had 2 stuck valves and a broken head bolt, but the guy had a herniated disc in his back and could no longer work on it. I bought it took troop seats ,jump seat, spare tire bracket, bow corners, pioneer rack and completed truck on right. I unstuck the valves, fixed gas tank, and put finders back on and hauled my wood for 2 years (5 cord a year) .I took it down to get the mail one day and I guy was going by , he stopped asked all kinds of questions ,I think he fell in love with it ,asked if it was for sale I thought to myself who needs 3 m37 so I sold it to him. It worked out good because at the time is was looking at a unmolested m38 (hard to find) so I sold the 37 and replaced it with a willys m38
