Paint color question

It looks like I'll have to update the page on my website as you've got some here that I don't have in my collection...

As far as the color of "stock" trucks, we've discussed it in some other threads concerning the differnces in shade (color) between the current FS595B 24087 and the FS595 24087 that was in use in the '60's (and with subsequent changes up to '84 when FS595B was adopted).

In order to get the "correct" shade of green for a truck used from this period, one would want to specify FS595B 24084 or 34084 (semi-gloss and lusterless, respectively). The current specification FS595B 24084 is actually the same COLOR as the previous FS595 or FS595A 24087.

Honestly, the variation in one vehicle to the next when parked in a line at a motor pool (including the one right behind my office) from just environmental factors are such that even with vehicles sprayed from the same batch of paint, you get different shades... Add in the factors that have been mentioned earlier, and I personally wouldn't sweat it too much trying to get a "perfect" color match...

But tell me, what type armor plating did you use? Was the floor of the bed covered?

SO was Wild Honey and Daughter of Darkness both black?

Now I feel much better about my truck's odd shade of color and the fact I have not been able to match it so there is different shades mixed in.

Colors of the vehicles changed due to availability of paint. Aviation assets could get green OD paint, truckers couldn't. One time I traded the services of my 5 ton wrecker to pull an engine on a chopper for 90 gallons of OD green paint. We could usually get black. The painter would us black mixed with OD to make it go farther.
The floors were covered with ammo and the gunners stood on the ammo cans. Here is a picture after an ambush with a 5 ton gun truck to give you an idea of what it looked like inside a gun box.

This is my last entry until next Monday. Me and the missus are going to my nieces wedding in New Hampshire should be fun. Probably not able to find a computer SO see you next week.
