Did M37 Have Turn Signals???

Im also installing my harness right now and was also wondering where the box get mounted for the turn signals, so if any of you B1 guys could chime in it would be a great help. Trying to get it in the original spot.

I believe it is supposed to mount to the left side of the glove box. (on the outside of the box). That is where I put mine.

THANKS YOU Tim! Absolutely correct....I just looked at my glove box, two holes exactly where you described and they align perfectly with the unit. Mystery solved.

Well, I thought the rewire project was completed yesterday. Now my truck is unique...the volt meter goes to zero when I switch to high beam, the dash lights go out when on high beam, the front B/O driving light doesn't work, the brake lights don't function, the oil pressure gage doesn't work and the horn is constantly stuck in the "on" position. Other than those small issues....all is good!

So it's back to the manual, schematic and double checking all connections. OBTW, I discovered those little metal tags with the numbers stamped on them were sized for VERY young eyes....they hard to read with bifocals!!!

I am installing a new harness into my 63 B1 and the original is a fire hazard. Somewhere along the life of the truck the signals were removed and the harness cut off. I now have an "original" from Vintage Wiring of Maine (nice product by the way) and I am looking for the place that the transistorized flasher/controller unit was installed. I know it has to be on the firewall somewhere, I just can't find holes that match up or a photo on the internet of the installed location. Anyone have an photo or description of where the unit was installed at the factory?

Jeff: I've installed a new harness from Vintage Wiring. I chose to hang the flasher unit from the bottom of the circuit breaker brackett.
This because I have insulated the passenger side of the firewall and it was not convenient to hang it on the interior firewall. Not mil-spec
but works for me. There is also more info on this site regarding installation of turn signals if you do a "search" on the subject. Good
info. Suggest you get the latest model of Signal Stat.

I am well on my way to getting the minor little issues resolved with the wiring project. Now sometimes the headlights work properly and sometimes they don't. Same with all the other issues described. I suspect it is a faulty main light switch, so I'll try to find a good used (real surplus) one of those (not a real big fan of the aftermarket material). If anyone has one for sale, please PM me...thanks.

I haven't the guts to try to install the turn signals yet!!

In the effort to correct the issues, I found this connector on mounted to the underside of the dash. It looks like something was connected to it for ground purposes. Can anyone tell me what this was for, and where the wire went from this connector please? Was is a ground for the instrument cluster? Initially I thought so, but there was no obvious attachment point on the instrument panel itself.

Looks like a grounding wire to me but you might want to run this by Charles Talbert of M-Series Rebuilders! He'll know for sure.

I think it is a Douglas grounding wire, same as the head light harness.
