I am looking for a good take off if anyone has one for cheap. I plan on re-powering to a Poly 318 in the not so distant future, so I just need something to get me by for now. Thanks

Did you check with Midwest? He has take off stuff too and might have one fairly inexpensive.

The manifolds are fragile and break easily from my experience, so finding a take out can be difficult at times.

Yes, $175 for a take off. I was hoping someone would chime in with something under $100, but the price has gone up on this stuff. Every time the price of scrap metal goes up there is less and less of these old parts that remain around so the price increase makes sense. I hate to spend that kind of money on something that I am not going to use much at all before I pull the whole engine out and replace it with a more modern re-power. My dad has a 51 flat fender power wagon he has been slowly working on. I may just swap the manifolds for now. His truck just goes in and out of the shop occasionally so it wouldn't matter.

Dan, let me check the parts truck I have. I think the exhaust manifold on it is in passable condition. If so I'll let you know.

I'm going to the Tower Park swap meet here in CA tomorrow and will keep an eye out for one "cheap".

I also have one that looks to be decent "would need to remove to be sure" if all other sources fail, feel free to pm me and I can take a closer look at it.

Thanks for the responses guys. I may just run it for now like it is, as its not that bad and not cracked in a critical area where it will harm anything. I have seen worse. If it can get me by for a little while it will be fine as it is. If it does get worse I will send out messages to those of you who responded. I appreciate it. Dan

Sorry Dan,
I spotted only one intake at the Tower Park meet, and the guy said "it fits all old Dodges..." so I passed, as it had some features I didn't recall seeing on mine (and I was right when I checked mine again when I got home). Maybe at Topeka I'll spot one....
