Getting ready to check my tranny out before install. I noticed there is a small amount of play in the splined shaft. Is this normal?
Thanks,
Gerry

The play in the shaft is up and down, like a worn bushing not front to rear.
Thanks,

Better make sure your pilot bushing that goes into the end of the crankshaft is in good shape-that should help stablize the shaft from too much "up and down" action whenever the clutch is depressed.

Thanks,
I bought a new pilot bushing to install when I reassemble.
