Re: Ford 351 swap??
You could always get a rear sump pan... IMS it shares the same oil pan as the other Windsor engines, so a rear sump car/suv/van application pan might be an easy thing to come by... It wasn't an issue for my 428 8) (But that's not a 351...) I like the 351W as swap candidate. Its different, ...

Re: Hot enough outside?
Temps hit 103 degrees in Salt Lake today-too doggone hot to do any work. I see a cool wave hitting the midsection of the US--how's everyone holding up? Gary While here in So Cal. Governor Moonbeam has apparently worked out a trade with Florida. They get our dry hot weather and we get their humid , ...

Re: Hot enough outside?
Closest fire is some 20 miles to the south of Prince George. I live at least another 15 miles at the northern end of PG, with two big rivers in between, and some 400' vertical feet of sand cut-bank. I'm not worried about the southern fire, but anything can happen with these dry conditions...

Re: Hot enough outside?
Way to hot up here in the center of BC; been at or near 35*C (100*F+/-) for the better part of a week now. Everything is tinder dry, and the forest fire season is gathering momentum...
Poor ol' AC unit can't even keep up, but the fridge is keeping the beer cold at least.

Re: Mini Steam Cleaner?
They use steam to clean most industrial equipment. I'd go for the steam setup if its affordable and practical; The steam mop used to clean the kitchen floor, isn't really practical for this job. I'm unfamiliar with the Wagner unit, but if it'll generate pressurized steam, then there will be no issue...

Its legal to double haul in Alberta and Saskatchewan as well, provided the trailer attached to the truck is a 5th wheel...
Interesting setup Tim. I'd be concerned with the leverage, but in reality, its probably more a concern dropping it on your toes when taking it off the trailer...

Re: Project: Old Guard - lots of pictures
The weak link in the whole setup is actually the rear output of Dana 20, and the spud shaft between the two tcases (it's only using 1310 ujoints). The divorced NP205 is a monster and unlikely to fail. The mounts that hold it up on the other hand, could be a different problem when everything is "...

Re: M43 For Sale in B.C.
The M37 isn't the one I traded to him. The M43 and my M152 actually spent a lot of time together post service. Apparently they were owned by a logging company together, one was used as a mobile saw shed, the other as somewhat of a crew crummy... As I recall, the fellow had at least 4-5 other M37's i...

Re: Most Practical Modification Thread
The V8 swap was the most practical mod on my '53. While I probably didn't need a '69 428CJ, it sure makes for a fun time between trips to the gas station for more propane fuel... Was it practical? Not really, considering it was the driving factor for swapping out all the rest of the power ...

Re: Complaint Department!!
Well, I seem to be a little late to this complaint party, but I figured I'd just let you all know that up here, we're having wonderful September weather this June. Had multiple days with frost warnings over the last week and there was a 10cm (about 4") dump of snow that fell just north of here ...

Re: m37 Propane conversion
Propane is far to expensive, considering it was once considered a waste product during the production of gasoline, and was vented to atmosphere and just burned off... A realistic price would be about $0.20 cents per gallon - but that'll never happen...

Re: m37 Propane conversion
US gallon is smaller than an imperial gallon, but it is still pretty expensive. The difference is about 2 pints - not that much, but enough. It really hurts at the pumps, especially when there is a serious lack of realistic public transportation in my city, leaving me with no other viable option bu...

Re: m37 Propane conversion
Ray, what does propane cost? For the last few years around here its been hovering around $0.69 per liter. Lately though its been up around $0.85 per liter. It was as high as a dollar per liter at one point this spring, but has since come down. Given the cost of gas right now is $1.34 per liter and ...
