Re: Compressor Help
Pulled the trigger on the Quincy 2 stage 5 HP. Northern tool had a sale for $1199, no tax free shipping except for lift gate service. All made in USA. Hopefully works as well as the comments and reviews. Now to do some sandblasting!!!

cab mount question
Are cab mounts the same from side to side? That is will a driver front fit a passenger fit? Not worried about exhaust cut-outs since I think the passengers have some mods for the exhaust. I have some drivers mounts that need work. Not alot but if I could find a set cheap would rather do that. Just n...

Re: Axel Swap
I'm using an axle set from an 89 3/4 ton. Believe they are a dana 44 front and 60 rear. They are wider. rear needs the spring pads relocated. front I offset the passenger spring 1.5". fairly standard mod with these axles. Search the forum and a bunch of threads will come up.

Compressor Help
Getting ready to sandblast and really need a new compressor. Looking at the Quincy 5 Hp two stage vertical machine. Retails for 1299 and for another 150 maintenance kit bumps it to a 3 year warranty. Built in USA. Anyone have any experience with Quincy? Sound like they are still very highly rated. D...

Re: looking for cab parts
Pass on the trans cover. really looking for the underneath brackets and braces. Thought there might be someone with a cut up cab they used for cowl repairs.

Re: Just started
TFadda...Send me some pics if you have them. I didn't want to hunt around for the right bellhousing and timing chain cover but that seems to be the easier way to go. this is using the stock trans? I "think" if using a non stock trans the engine has to move forward or the transfer case need...

Re: Transfer case cooler
Color definitely has input on heat transfer, especially radiant. How important it is for a cooler is another matter which is probably designed mostly for other forms of heat transfer.

Re: cut my cab top off
Same thing with mine. Someone made a hardtop. my plans were to remove and sell/swap/give-away. By the time i got into it ended up cutting it off in pieces.Like you i think I can re-use the side window pieces. I do need a rear bow. Alo need to drill out and weld shut the 100(?) rivets they used to se...

Re: Just started
Location is based solely on not moving the trans case. This location allows normal truck bellhousing, NP435, stock intermediate shaft and transfer case location. Was considering moving the transfer case but that is more involved than I originally thought...all the brackets are riveted. Plus with the...

Re: Just started
Got the engine mounts located. Need to do some trimming then drill and bolt. Using mounts from donor truck. This seems cheaper and easier than the adapter mounts that are out there using stock location. Will need to build a trans mount but will not need to find the special bellhousing with mounting ...

Re: Questions on engine swap
I'm not using the existing mounts. I've outboarded the passenger spring and lost that mount (trans). I'll make a separate trans mount. this is what I'm using for motor mounts. Still need some trimming but free. Think I have everything in the right spot now. Measured and the pass side bracket is shor...
