Already converted to a Signal Stat 900 and LED compatible flasher.

Filament to LED Light Bulbs??

Anyone change out the filament bulbs to 24v LEDs? I'm looking for the Stop/Turn and Marker (tail) lights.
From what I can research the Stop/Turn are #1156 and are commonly replaceable with equivalent LEDs.
The markers, #1251, not so easy...

Re: Oil Bath Air Cleaner Gasket

Next is to figure out something for under the wing nut. For the metal to metal wing nut contact area I was able to reduce the internal flare with pliers. That flare prevented the removal of the wing nut. A large rubber washer covered by a metal washer now sits between the wing nut and the cleaner, ...

The only electric units I'm familiar with is rack&pinion. If there is another type that might fit I'm sure it's not 24v.

Re: Directional Help?

The internals of the signal control were trashed. Have a new Signal-Stat 900 on order. Should be here on Sunday.

Re: Power steering kit

To install PS on mine was way low on the list. Then after driving, it was pushed to the top. A very good upgrade if the budget is there. To answer your question: Each 'kit' will get you 90% there. I purchased mine from M-Series and was told there will be some custom work as not every truck is the sa...

Re: Losing fuel prime

These are different beasts for sure.

I find that the choke is needed very sparingly. The hand throttle is needed to keep it about 1000rpm for a bit.
Too much use of the choke can easily flood.

I'm still getting used to everything.

Re: Directional Help?

Going to ohm it out first, then take it apart to inspect.

If it's bad as suspected then it will be replaced with a Signal-Stat 900.

Sorry, but the one you have will fail at it's first opportunity. :(

While not good news, it seems the most likely culprit. I think there's an internal short to the right light when the left is on.

Directional Help?

Got to the directionals today as the pilot light was not on, no flashing. First checked for shorts by removing all the bulbs, no shorts. Put the parking lights bulbs in and all worked. Put the front directional bulbs in and jumped the 24v and return wires at flasher box connector (no box). The pilot...

Parking lights are for parking.
It's only modern era where they both are on at the same time. (1970's)
While very true we also:
Drive on a parkway
Park on a driveway

I get it now, just seemed weird at first.

Re: Headlight - Parking light Question

I just thought it odd the front yellow lights (whatever the proper name is) did not work when the headlights are on. It's either one or the other, not both. I will eventually wire them up but that's lower on the 'ToDo List' right now. My priority is the directional signals which started this questio...

Re: Oil Bath Air Cleaner Gasket

Thanks for all the help. I decided to use a leather shoelace in the groove of the cleaner. The stack is sharp and I feel would cut through rubber in short time. After a test fit and adjustment the leather was able to be stuffed in the groove. The cleaner now fits on the stack with a good seal. Will ...
