Re: Bumper markings
Yep, all the markings are from before the unit was moved and assigned to Americal 23rd Infantry Div and the 14th Aviation Bn. in Chu Lai. I've gone through all of the photos as I belong to the Rattlers and Firebirds Association. Seems no one took any good pictures of vehicles other than Hueys just l...

Re: Bumper markings
I was just looking over at Olive Drab site and it looks like the markings should be more like:
23I 14BN or AVNBN? left side for 23rd Infantry, 14th Aviation Battalion. 71 or 71AHC-2 right side?

Bumper markings
I am in the process of putting on the bumper stencils on my M37 and want to use my old company in Vietnam. I was in the 14th Aviation Battlion, 71st Assault Helicopter Company in the Avionics section. I thought the markings should read 14 AVN-71 AHC...........S-2, S standing for Signal, any ideas? T...

Timing
I am in the process of finding out what if any problems I have with my M37 engine. I had broached the subject here a little while back and got good feedback about compression testing etc. I haven't check the compression yet but I was going to check timing over the weekend since I had a extra hand to...

Re: M37 transmission question
I purchased the TM's from EMILITARY MANUALS. They list TM 9-8030 - TO 36A-1-411 - Operation and Organizational Maintenance and to my fault, I assumed that it would cover the TM for the early transmission which it does not. I asked for a refund and they responded very quickly to their credit for cust...

M37 transmission question
I purchased the manuals for my M37 on line and downloaded the pdf files. The TM for the transmission is for the NP420. My question is, can I use that manual for reference when working on my early (1954) transmission? I had the original trans go south, ie; synchro blew up and I found another out of a...

Data plate rivets
Does anyone have a good picture of the rivets used to fasten the dashboard and glove box data plates. The previous owner had repro plates made and attached them with brass machine screws.
Thanks,

Re: dual chamber master cylinder
Thanks to all, this is the info I really appreciate. Yes, the dual master cylinder is just for safety and piece of mind. I always leave plenty of stopping room in front of me, even though somebody always crowds into the open space. Everybody must be in a hurry to get to the next stop light, funny, w...

Re: heater
Cuz, No mfg. marks or tags, the only marks are the ones in yellow stamped on it. I got it with my M37 and the previous owner said it was 24vdc. I haven't tried to power it up yet, I can check that off my system. I woud like to sell it, I purchased a complete new heater kit and don't need it laying a...

Re: dual chamber master cylinder
Another question. I've looked at the link about installing the master cylinder, looks pretty straight forward fabricating and wrenching, they mentioned a proportioning valve but hadn't done that yet. Has anyone had experience with the proportioning valves on all drum brakes. I don't want to convert ...

Re: heater
The cable running into the duct is the push/pull knob for the water valve, it's just stuck in there so it didn't get caught on anything.
