An exhaust shop could make the pipe, but it would still need to be threaded. So much easier to unscrew one from a dead tank!
Thanks for the thought.

Looking for a part
Hi Guys, Got a buddy looking for a part, he needs the filler tube for the gas tank. Not the big piece that bolts onto the fender with the gas cap, he needs the pipe that screws into the tank itself and gets the short rubber hose that connects it to the big filler. Anyone here have a rotted out or ba...

Re: 2021 ROLL CALL-PLEASE CHECK IN!
Well, as John M. mentioned early in this thread, I am still around. A couple of years ago I changed the focus of my business, Distinctive Restoration from working on houses to trucks! Let my crew go, and work alone and love every day of it! I have completed a frame off resto of an M37, mostly stock ...

Cowl vent question
Hi Guys, I assembled the cowl vent yesterday. When I close it, it centers nicely in the hole and bears great in the back but the front is 1/2" up. I have the link bar at the extreme of the adjustment length so should have the most pull down. I have played the the adjustment of the hinge as well...

Looking for an old canvas M37 top
Hi All,
Anyone have a rotted or torn up old M37 canvas top that you saved, not knowing why?
I am having a custom top made, and could use the metal strips that lock in above the windows, as well as all of the buckles around the rear window.
Let me know what you have!
Thanks,
Tim

Converting to LEDs?
Hi All, Been a while since I posted here. I am doing a frame off resto on a 51 M37 for a man in Mass. He would like to have all of the lights be LED. My question is, will the standard Mil flasher work with LED bulbs? I know many flashers will not, due to the lack of resistance with the LEDs. I know ...

That makes sense. Was the tailgate removed?

M37 A-Frame kit
Hi All, I recently aquired an almost complete M37 A -Frame kit. I have a picture of it as well, but no way to post it. What I have matches the picture perfectly. I am missing the rear stay, (the cable which goes to the rear to hold the frame up) It appears in the picture to simply be a cable from th...

Re: How Good is the Repop Tailgate from VPW
Talk about twisted and bent tailgates, and I really wish I had taken a picture of it. I had a basically rust free gate, that was completely mangled. Bent in every direction. It was probably bowed out 8 or 10 inches, and twisted, I dont know what happened to it to get this way, but something pretty e...

Re: distibutor 180 out.
Good Job Gerry,
It is possible that you have fouled your spark plugs with repeated cranking and no firing. If you have a sandblast cabinet, clean up the engine side and try again.
Keep up posted.

Re: distibutor 180 out.
Hi Gerry, TDC on the compression stroke is what you are looking for. With your finger over the spark plug hole, when you feel the compression pushing your finger off the hole, stop, and look at the pointer on the timing chain cover, it should be approaching your timing marks. Then continue turning t...

Re: distibutor 180 out.
Hi Wayne, That could be. Gerry mentioned that this is after an engine rebuild, so my reasoning is that the oil pump was installed 180 out. If thi was doing work on a prevoiusly running engine I would say that the pump is correct and something else is amiss. I didnt realize that about the distributor...

Re: distibutor 180 out.
Then it sounds like you need to pull your oil pump and turn the slot in the tang 180 and reinstall it. shine a light down your dist. hole and note the orientation of the slot in the oil pump. When you reinstall the oil pump recheck to be sure it is still oriented the same, (but the offset slot will ...
