Another Joke

2 second lieutenants were undergoing their final "practical" exam in the basic survival course. They were given a canteen full of water, a knife, a compass, and a map. Then, they were dropped in the middle of a large forest with instructions to find their way back to base within 48 hours. ...

You're welcome! Glad to have done it. Wish I could still do it, too. Today, I'll be participating with my American Legion post's Honor Guard in a ceremony at the local veterans' memorial at 1100 hours. At 1400 hours, I'll be driving the 40&8 fire truck in the Veterans' Day parade in Galesburg, I...

So, you do have to have access to an image posting site to use this feature? It looks like there is no way to simply attach an image directly from our own computer files? Most forums, using the format this forum is now using, have a way to simply insert a jpg file from one's own computer. Makes it ...

I just had another thought. I remember going through junior and senior high school with a plastic pocket protector in my shirt pocket. It always had a fountain pen (ball-points were banned), a mechanical pencil, a #2 pencil, a #3 pencil, a six-inch ruler, and my slip-stick in it. Yes...my eyeglasses...

Interesting web site. I see that the 6" student slide rules like the one I had in junior high are still available. Unfortunately, today's science teachers provide the kids with calculators. They're okay, I guess, but the ol' slip-stick didn't need batteries! ;)

Easy as pie. Type your message, click the "Img" box at the top of the posting page, insert the pic, click the "Img" box again, and hit "Submit." That's all there is to it.

Check at your nearest full-service truck stop (Flying J, etc.). Many, if not most, over-the-road rigs have 24-volt systems, so I'd imagine that they would have the alarm you're looking for. I have no idea how much one would cost, though.

Re: Alarms?

Has anyone put an alarm of any sort on an M37? If so like what? I would like to have something like that on mine, but don't know how I should go about it.. Any ideas? Are you referring to an anti-theft alarm? If so, they're available almost anywyere and are pretty easy to install. I don't know if t...

It would seem that your M37 has been modified. You may not be able to use a stock seat without restoring the original seat box.

Welcome to our new home! I've been wondering how you were doing and if you ever got that degree. Seems as though you have, so congrats on your success. Hope the job goes well and you get paid enough to spend a little bit on your truck. :)

I would never have guessed that something like that could be going on. Of course, I've only ever stayed in the cheap-o motels where they always leave out the cheap individual plastic-wrapped single-use glasses.

Carter,

I have no idea what the "recipe" is, but I've seen lots of gray Navy M37s. Even though I was career Air Force, I was born into a Navy family. They look just fine in gray. :D
