Re: Steering knuckle rebuild procedure?

Cool. I'm not too far off. I'll re-torque the cap bolts and recheck.

Thanks!

Steering knuckle rebuild procedure?

What is the steering knuckle rebuild procedure? I am rebuilding a '53-'54 from "scratch" and have the left steering knuckle put back together but I don't have the torque values for the bolts or for the tapered cone preload.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What to do with extra front axle?

Hi all. I have an extra front axle assy and would like some input as to its worth. Specifically, should I keep it or strip some of the usable components and take the rest to the salvge yard?

Any advise is greatly appreciated!

I actually still want the rims. If you had a PayPal account I could send the money today using my credit card. I just can't get the cash together until after the New Year.

Okay, I'm trying to decide between your rims and having a set of 16 inch rims made from my budd centers. Anybody want to talk me into these?

Re: WTB Cab Mount Bolts

I just spoke to Bob on Tuesday, 10/30. He is about to rebuild my rear diff with the 4.89 ring and pinion. I asked if he had any storm damage and he related that it was minimal. So he is alright as of Tuesday.

Source for 4.89 gears?

I just got off the phone with Richmond Gear tech support and the news wasn't good. The tech guy said he remembers a special run of gears for the powerwagons but they do not stock that gear set anymore. I also spoke to US Gear and they no longer carry the ring and pinion for the Chrysler diff. Does a...

Thanks for the response, Gary. I'm going to start sandblasting and priming this weekend. Looks like I'll be ordering from Rapco.
