Carter YF rebuild

I'm struggling with the rebuild of my Carter YF. Might be something as simple as still not having the float adjusted right; or am I missing something? The photo shows the float adjusted to high. I've adjusted the float parallel with the float bowl cover, and it still leaks. My next attempt is to low...

Re: Kodiak, AK

Where's the Trails and Sightings section? A buddy has his M715 stuck on a trail on Pillar mountain. He gave me a call this morning, looking for a little help. His truck is high centered on some trees, the ground is soft, passenger front wheel is off the ground and rear is digging a hole. After winch...

When I bought my truck 17 years ago, it had around 27,000; now it reads 73,257.

Re: Kodiak, AK

The Dodge and I got home in one piece, that's a good day! Lots of fun.
T.Highway- It has a civilian Ball and Ball carb, the intake was on the truck when I bought it 17 years ago. I'm not sure what vehicle it was originally from. It looks good and works so I don't mess with it!

I like the visual play going on in this picture. In that the M37 was replaced with the M715; and here we are 2010 with what might be a revamped 715 and the M37 is still plugging along!!

Has a civilian carb, 24v fuel pump, 11.00X16s, other than that it's stock. It's a long slow trip from Phoenix in a stock rig, 120 miles, mountains and winding roads the whole way. I was chopping water with the fan blade! No fording kit, on either rig. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i282/ceblove1/...

River crossing

Found some old photos crossing Cherry Creek Az, 12 years ago in the M37. The videos are from two weeks ago crossing the same spot with my '07 Jeep JK. You gotta love flash flooding in the desert!! Crossing 12 years ago I remember the water being deeper, just not so swift. Talking with the rancher, (...

Thanks, is the residual check valve used because of the return springs on the shoes? I eventually hope to go to 4 wheel discs, would I have to remove it at that time?
