River crossing

Post by Helnbakwarzalot »

Found some old photos crossing Cherry Creek Az, 12 years ago in the M37. The videos are from two weeks ago crossing the same spot with my '07 Jeep JK. You gotta love flash flooding in the desert!! Crossing 12 years ago I remember the water being deeper, just not so swift. Talking with the rancher, (who's vehicle is parked on the other side of the river- LOL); he said they were expecting two more days of rain and the water could rise several more feet, that if we couldn't cross by the end of the day we would be there for at least another week, if we were lucky!!!

Helnbak - Good to see such a nice looking truck being used as a - well - Truck! Looks like the water was what, maybe 3 foot deep or so? No fording kit which wasn't necessary. Is your truck stock?

Has a civilian carb, 24v fuel pump, 11.00X16s, other than that it's stock. It's a long slow trip from Phoenix in a stock rig, 120 miles, mountains and winding roads the whole way. I was chopping water with the fan blade! No fording kit, on either rig.
