Just to let everyone know, not all Fastenal stores participate in the "Customer Freight" issue. I checked with our store here in Durango, Colorado, and they had no Idea what I was talking about. They said they received no such thing as corporate freight, or any kind of a corporate shippin...

If you want to view Scruffy my '53 M37 that is for sale, Google New Life canvas. M37, and look for the bright orange brush truck pictured there. Mona made the top and tailgate chain covers for it.

The engine transmission assembly that is a runner is sold pending funds. If you have a Fastenall Store near you and can pickup the item, their shipping is quite reasonable. Thanks, John

M37 and other Goodies. Downsizing! South Dakota
Hi guys, I'm downsizing and moving out in the spring from my shop location to home. I need to make some room. I love all my stuff, but there comes a time-----------and it's here. I will list it all below, and if you want pictures, I'll need your email address and I'll send them to you from my Samsun...

Re: Posted picture of Steering Box backlash adjustment
I jumped into adjusting the backlash yesterday. It fixed my problem of the truck jumping back and forth on a rutted road without turning the steering wheel. I had to turn in the adjustment screw one full turn. Wow. Drives great now. Thanks, Oilly

I've turned that "cap" and never really figured out why it turned and didn't help. Thanks much for the picture! John

Re: Pulling apart fuel pumps?
The M38 fuel pumps were basically the same except for the arm that rides on the cam. Once you get the top and bottom valve assemblys off, the two diaphrams are connected together between them on lever arms coming off the main arm that rides on the camshaft. You have to push down some on the diaphram...

Instead of the exhaust exiting behind the doors, it's in front of the doors, the headlights do a great job of illuminating the front tires, earplugs a must, goggles too! Where, and what would someone use it for?

Re: stalling / hesitation issue
A miss can be caused by a fouled plug, you said the ignition timing etc. was in good shape, but if you choke it too much, you can fowl a plug. Also mine started missing after re-build and it was a broken (brand new) valve spring. The lowest compression would be the first place to look. That also mak...

Re: stalling / hesitation issue
I have had this exact same issue and sometimes still do. What I did was remove the carb and left the fuel in it. Took off the top so you can look down in the float bowl. If you have anything in it, like fine rust dust or dirt, it screws up the fuel delivery through the two ball checks that the accel...

I think I know you
. Off the subject, that sure looks like a very close match to Normandy blue. Did you mix it or find a modern similar color? On the 2A, duh. Very nice work you do. I'll bet your M37 is going to be just as nice. John

Re: Hard starting--install a primer?
Before you go through a bunch of work, make sure your choke cable is in fact working. Next if you have a electric fuel pump like I do, the fuel pressure needs to be checked and a visual of flow at the carb. Take the fuel line off the carburator and point the end at a coffee can and have a friend tur...

Re: Throttle lag problem
John B at Midwest Military told me the timing spec. I set mine there and it runs fine. The vacuum gauge is a excellent way to set timing. Where did you tap it at? John
