Hi all. This is my first post. I have a 47 CJ2A my wife and I have done a frame off restoration on. We picked up a 53 M37 in July and have started to fix her up.
Its in really good shape. We picked it up outside of Grand rapids MI and brought it home to Walled Lake. It came with troop seats, rear bows and canvas and front canvas top. We also got a new set of 24v wires and plugs but need the 24v distributor to go with them. My Wife (Dawn) Is the best. she was in the garage every minute when we restored the 2A. She wire wheels parts, cleans and scraped gunk from the frame, sands the body and is mechanically inclined. She shocks most of the guys when we talk garage talk. Working on the M is no different. Today she was stripping the gerry can holder. Ive got it made. We dont know of anyone in our area that has a M37. Be patient with us when we ask a question that may seem silly. Enough rambling. here are some pictures.
I think I know you . Off the subject, that sure looks like a very close match to Normandy blue. Did you mix it or find a modern similar color? On the 2A, duh. Very nice work you do. I'll bet your M37 is going to be just as nice. John
Hi John. the paint is Normandy blue. We had a spot that was preserved under the fender computer matched and mixed up. i hope the M37 comes out good but no frame off on this one. The 2A took its toll on us. We completed it in 15 Months. Do you recognize the top? Jeff (JPET) made it and the bows were made by Lowenuf. Great work by those two.
You and your wife have done a very nice job on that CJ and your M37 is looking great also.
There is no reason to do a body off restoration if you don't have to. That truck looks like it was well cared for before you got it, which is always nice to see.
