What's better on these beasts?
A bit of toe in, or toe out?

I found that since the tie rod ends are screwed onto a bent tie rod the final adjustment is not exact. The best is "close".

From 1/8 to 1/4 inch in. One tie rod end is fine thread the other coarse, if memory holds.

A spring loaded curtain rod positioned at the farthest rubber on each tire will give you a cheap gauge. Use a sharpie to mark it, then roll the truck backward to see the difference.

I made an alignment jig (yet another one use tool)
- (2) 7ft long square tubing notched in the middle to fit between the hub and one lug
- Another 2" piece for the other side of the lug
- 3/4" washer over both pieces
- lug nut to tighten onto the hub face
Just measure distance between the front or rear bar ends

I jack up the front end. Spin the tire while spray painting a light mist of paint on each tire. I place a block with a nail sticking out and spin the tire scribing a line in the paint. I then measure front and back side of tire. Subtract the difference and adjust to spec. 5¢ worth of tooling.

Took another look today. I was turning the fine thread end. The closest I could get the difference "C" between the front and rear ends is 1.5"
Bar lengths each (A&B) at 7ft
That shows the angle between
A&B = about 1.0232 degrees (toe in).

Good enough.
