Torque setting for M-37 axle flange nuts
My M-37 started leaking oil from the right rear axle flange spraying the oil on the wheel and tire. So I checked the six nuts that secure the flange and they were all loose. So I checked the nuts on the other three wheels and they were also loose although not yet leaking oil. What is the torque setting for these nuts on both the front and rear axles of my truck? It is a 1953. And help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Torque setting for M-37 axle flange nuts
I answered my own question. The torque setting for the hex nuts on the m37 axel flanges is 30-35 lbs. I finally found the info on the internet in TM 9 8031–2. It is on page 140 just in case anyone else is curious about what these settings should be.

Mine crept loose even when properly torqued-Blue Threadlocker solved that problem!

Re: Torque setting for M-37 axle flange nuts
I change out the studs to 7/16" on both ends and use Nylok nuts. No lockwashers, they leak.
End of problem.
