Hi,
Does anyone have pictures of how the battery cable is routed from battery box to starter? My cable seems to be really close to the engine block (touching it) and I don't really like how it is. Are there supposed to be cable clamps on the bell housing or accelerator linkage to help direct the cable? I'm replacing my old cable with a new one, but the new one seems to be a little more stiffer than the old one and not sure I had the old one routed correctly anyway.
Appreciate any help/suggestions
Thanks

If you spend your evenings and weekends pouring through all the pictures in all the various manuals you will eventually see the routing.
Mine is in an asphalted cotton sleeve and has several clamps along the frame and over the bell housing.

Re: battery cable routing to starter
There's a cable clamp anchored the top (leftish) bell housing bolt. From there it just goes around the corner, under the lower linkage rod, and over the starter to the post. It's stiffness keeps it in place. Mine is about 1 1/2" off the block as it curves around the corner.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I've looked at a lot of pictures, but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. In my situation if I route the battery cable how it think it should be routed, it pretty much touches the side of the engine block by the starter which I don't really like. I tried to have cable come above the starter and loop down to it, but not really happy about that either mainly cause it's below the oil filter canister and seems to be in the way if I drain the oil from the canister. The cable I have seems to be overkill is all and not too flexible.

You can always put some heat wrap or muffler tape around the cable for extra protection and peace of mind, too.

Re: battery cable routing to starter
Can you bend the stud flange on the end of the cable so it takes some of the curve out of the line ?
