Ignition problems and Napa part # for ignition rotor

Finally attempted to start my truck after sitting 8 years and found I had no spark. Pulled the distributor. The capacitor was leaking. I installed the electronic ignition and decided to put on a new rotor. I have a new rotor Echlin Napa # AL62 in my spare parts but it does not look like the rotor that was in the distributor. Is this the correct part? There also seems to be a lot of controversy over coils and their resistance. If a coil is bad, would I expect to see my readings higher than spec or lower? Also, does napa carry a 24volt coil that works for this truck? Thanks

coil ohm values were just posted a few days ago, but if yours don't match exactly i wouldn't worry about it. the only reading that tells you for sure your coil is bad is if one of the readings is near infinite (meaning a broken or burned wire inside the coil). this isn't to say a multi meter test is useless, just that it's not always the most reliable. pull the distributor cover inspection plug and make sure you get a 24V reading that switches on and off as the engine cranks on the neg side of the coil. tells you that you have power and that the pertronix is doing its job and switching the coil like it should.
