Floating power ????
1963 m37 front engine mount has stamped in it Floating Power ! What's that ??
Re: Floating power ????
It has to do with Dodge's engine mounting system. The axis of the engine & trams is arranged in the mounts to reduce vibration. If you check out some old ads on YouTube they cover it well!
Re: Floating power ????
Agreed-most any engine with the "sandwiched" rubber mounts is considered "full floating power".

Thanks for the info !
Re: Floating power ????
chryselr invented the idea in the 20s or 30s and some other car companies actually paid them to use the technology.
Re: Floating power ????
The Chrysler patented "Floating Power" concept involved the mounting geometry, not just the rubber isolation mounts, as ashyers noted.Cal_Gary wrote:Agreed-most any engine with the "sandwiched" rubber mounts is considered "full floating power".
