Identify missing carburetor screw

Post by isaac_alaska »

Trying to figure out what screw is needed on the crank arm on the carburetor. mine didn't have a screw, and it looked like it's the right size for a 10-32, but the screw i picked up doesn't thread in. it will go in a couple threads and then gets tight. I'm wondering if there's somewhere i could look that would list the thread size that's supposed to thread in. I don't mind cleaning the threads out with a tap, but i want to make sure i'm not cutting new threads in a different size. Or if anyone has an extra screw they can measure and let me know, I would really appreciate it.

The TM shows it to be a #10-24NC-2 x 7/8" machine screw, fillister head.

Looks like you had the correct size, wrong pitch.

It is in the 1954 ORD 9 parts manual, fig 03-1 and on page 69.
