Looking up info

Post by Bulldog »

Hey guys,
I was wondering how do I find info on my sons truck. We would like to know what branch of the service that it used in. Also the tag on the dash reads that it was delivered in 7 of 66. I have found the serial # and order stock #. The engine # is 1245A - 212474.
I have posted pics in an album in the pic section. Look under randy.
Thanks,
Bulldog

"The engine # is 1245A - 212474. "

Most likely the eng. serial # begins with a T as in T245 (M37 military engine code) then the actual block # 212474. I believe the suffix code A denotes an M37B1 engine and again that is my opinion only. I have seen several B1s with the A code and some M37s with a replaced engs with the A code, like mine. Anybody know anything about B1 engine codes? To my knowledge no 1950s era blocks had an A suffix.
