Passenger Request, Grab Handle

Post by ashyers »

The truck has now been running for around a month and has logged nearly 300mi with no major drama. This has lead to a request from my fearless passenger, a grab handle. I was wondering if anyone has fabricated one and has photos to share.

I think this and seatbelts will be welcomed! Now if I could just get a bit more hill climbing power out of the 230 :).

Thanks,

Andy

Nah, I don't have cup holders in any of the fleet, too old!

I actually sympathize with the grab handle, I have the steering wheel and if that fails I can lean on the dog! If a garb handle allows me to keep my 2 garage spaces it's a small price to pay :). Of course fixing the seat pegs today may help too...

There is the window latch lever on the right side of the dash.

If you can find the defroster ducts for the heater kits they work well (you will need to put door welt on a couple of the edges).

The upper part of the M-16 rifle holder works well too.

Someone put the TM (or whatever you call it) for fabricating and installing the lift handle that mounts on the front of the hood.
Simply make one and bolt it to the dashboard on top of the glovebox door. Or make it wider and put it over the top of the glovebox door so it can still open.

52.....didn't you post that hood handle instruction?

regards,
bob

I don't think I did. I had a nice new one I sold, but I don't remember posting the instructions to fab and install one (doesn't mean I didn't - just means I don't remember).

Maybe someone can find it in the archives.

Buy a handle that goes on the pass side of the M151A2 MUTT's , that might work

Hands down (no pun) the best one is made by cutting down one from an M211 2-1/2 ton GMC. Perfect angle, use one windshield stop bolt and drill only one hole to the left.

ps...Yes, they had 'em in there just for passengers....
