Still adding miles to my truck, working out the bugs, and the latest nonsense happened today. I have a pair of those ABLinn electric wiper motors in 12V. Today we ran errands down the hill, putting another 30 miles on the odometer. Once we started for home the snow started falling, enough to cycle the wiper motors on and off since they're only made for rain, and the snow was sticky and wet, aka heavy. I did this as well last month with no issues. Anyway, about 2 miles into the return trip I cycled my wiper and the blade said "see ya" and fell off, down the cab side and off the running board. I was doing about 35 when it took off so I didn't bother to try to find it since there was the snow falling and traffic around.
So, I had to cannabalize Veronica's in order to see which left her with her passenger door window rolled down and her arm wiping off her windshield manually, all while the snow got heavier as we climbed home to 6200 feet. Her patience over the years still astounds me, and coincidentally, the 28th was our 32nd wedding anniversary! Some gift, huh?!
I've ordered a set of replacements via eBay and will need to modify those AB Linn mounting arms with a slot in order to fit the new blades, but that will solve any future "deserters".
I hope these things remain minor in nature as I work them out.
