Dash Markings

Post by topellis »

Can someone point me to a reference or pics concerning the dash or instrument panel markings? I know there were a lot of changes over the years. I am looking mainly for the fording plug warning and what placard would be attached to the dash left of the steering column and right of the pub plate. I think its the safe driver placard?
Thanks for any info.

From what I have seen, that varies widely with respect to the operating command's preferences. I found no evidence of those on my truck.

I can take a photo of my dashboard if you like, and email it to you. However, that would just be a picture of my dashboard and not an authoritative illustration of a "correct" dashboard.

If that would be of any help to you, just PM me your email and I'll send it when I get home this evening.

I sent a PM, any pics would be appreciated. In particular as I mentioned just left of the glove compartment where the round knockout is for the defrost I think... there was a warning to install the ford plug before fording or something like that. I also have four holes that are a vertical rectangle that I think is where the safe driver placard goes.

Thanks for any info

52 M42, thanks for the pics. The one I was confused on ended up being the winch plate. I Dont have a winch so. . that explains that. Lol. I saw the decal for the fording plug. I've never seen a decal for that. During my sanding process I found it spray painted once with. . maybe 1 inch and again later in 1/2 inch I think.
Thanks again.
