Truck Bed Disasembly...

Post by Oddjob »

Truck Bed Disassembly ...From what I can tell the bed comes apart in components or are there spot welds holding things together... I have to get my truck bed off of my 4x8 trailer so I can sell the trailer and would be nice if I could break the bed down in pieces so I can bring it into the garage to work on it through the winter... I've seen people with there bed sides off and am a little confused as to how to get to that point... I know the front unbolts...

Is there a order of disassembly to follow...?

Fenders unbolt from the sides, sides unbolt from the floor. Front unbolts from the floor. Storage box unbolts from the floor. Floor unbolts from the frame. Yes you can break the bed down into many parts. Here is most of my truck in pieces. Image You can see the side panels of the bed standing up to the left.

Not a chance... but if I get stopped on one project I want to switch to another while waiting on supplies... Might call in some extra hands for a little help... My only help right now is my American Bulldog but he isn't much help at this time... Although when it starts getting a little chilly his hot breathe is like a heater... 8)
