Battery Group Size Question
For those who still have a 24V system, what is the largest size batteries you can fit in the battery box? Then, for anyone who doesn't have the battery box what size are you using?

Re: Battery Group Size Question
Murf,
I have 2 31P-5 batteries in the M. They just fit width wise in the battery box.

With larger batteries you need more charging capacity. The old boat anchor
generator doesn't put out enough to charge larger batteries than the SP22NF
ones.

Re: Battery Group Size Question
If the voltage (24v) remains the same, larger batteries would only need more time under the operational generator to reach max charge over a set of smaller cells since they have a larger capacity. They don't require a higher voltage. None the less, I'm just going with what I can stuff in the box.milstencil wrote:Murf,

Just to tag on to this post, I was wondering if anyone is using the optima batteries and if so, what size?

Thanks Elwood,
Just the info I needed and will remember the search function is my friend.

Re: Battery Group Size Question
My truck had the radio modification to change to 6TL batteries. My generator keeps them topped up.
