anyone out there buy a truck that was converted (ANd working) and converted back to stock 24V and want to sell?
I like the 12V conversion... Might be cheaper going this route (Someday) when my 24V components need replacing.. Wires are COSTLY!!!
So are the other 24V electrics.
woouod need the distro, Oil pump? (Heard its a required change out?) and all other parts requied.

Yep, you'd also need the civvy oil pump because the military distributor has the offset "tang" on the bottom where the civvy oil pump is centered. Ensure you have the correct 12V coil-if you run a ballast you need the compatible coil. Of course, 12V lights would also be required, and I recommend two 12V batteries wired in parallel under the passenger seat for plenty of cranking power.

Well, let me see if I cant find a complete setup, one that some0ne took out of a running truck because they wanted to convert the 12V back to stock 24V..
would like the entire setup if possible. for future conversion put on shelf till that day happens.

you can keep the 24 distributor as MWM sells a 12 volt coil that fits it,. the waterproof set up is much better than the civvy set up.

thats all you need, leave the origianl distro in place and add a 12v coil?
Obviuosly the rest of the 2v4 system would have to go, like the genrerator/alternator and lights and such.
what about the rest of the wiring?
Wit the 24v distro and 12v coil, I could leave the screw style water proof plugs and wires in place.
but what about the rest of the wiring in the system to the generator, the regualtor, etc? I assume all this could go in lieu of say a one wire alternator if I wanted.
BTW. I dont plan to do this to a perfectly running truck.. just in case expensive parts start going it could be a backup plan..

yes would have to change the charging system but the stock system is quite reliable. I would trust it more than any rebuilt alternator. rebuilt modern parts never seem to hold up to well anymore. Even the new parts I am putting on my car are all failing. Chinese junk everywhere.... the stock charging system is water proof also so switching tome would be a downgrade as I like to offroad my dodges its a plus to not worry about fording. The M37 I have right now was converted to 12 and it is missing all of the stock wiring so I wont convert it back to stock, but if it was stock sure would leave it.
