production dates vs. delivery dates

Hello all, new to the forum and glad to be among those with knowledge of these vehicles. i have a question that may have been gone over,and forgive me if it has as i couldn't find it,but on my m37 the plate is stamped with a delivery date of dec 1966.the vin number though indicates a a series built @ Jan 1952. so unless there was a big ol warehouse like in Raiders of The Lost Arc where the kept these until needed, i am at a loss. i noticed several others in the registry with similar discrepancies. the title shows the vehicle was brought in from out of country and i thought at first they may have titled it at that time in 1966. that would explain the 1966 title work but not the stamping on the plate. any thoughts, insites or answers?

the serial number on the frame is the actual date from what I understand. The plates may have been changed if it went through depot rebuild. There is more info on here about that and guys more knowledgeable about it than I am but I know they were prone to change absolutely everything on the truck, so the frame number is probably the only original one that can be trusted

the numbers 80019105 match on both frame and plate. i assume it is the original plate from condition and riveting. on the date is TEAD 12/66. any significance to the TEAD preceding the date? Tried to attach a pic but the board attachment quota has been met.

TEAD is the Tooele Army Depot, what that means is it likely got rebuild by them and was redelivered in 12/66

so most likely rebuilt in 1966 and first civilian title issued off that rebuild tag. very clear now. i had thought refabs had a seperate plate affixed.
