M37 Built for Charity auction in January .

Post by hbb »

I am sharing pictures of a M37 that I went to Iowa in early June and started restoring then finishing in mid November.
The truck was found in north west Iowa and wasn't a real bad example to start with but it had enough rust that was cut out and replaced . Every nut and bolt came off the truck down to bar frame, then everything was sand blasted primed repaired and painted. I also overhauled the engine(balanced, cylinder and line bored),the transmission, transfer case ,front and rear differentials.nothing was left untouched,I had a couple apprentice body men working on the sheet metal while the mechanical, plumbing and wiring was done.great care was taken on assembly detail which resulted in a very fine looking and running truck!
I Had a lot of help from Vintage Power Wagons,Midwest Military Suply,New life Canvas,Vintage wiring of Maine and Larson's Stenciling with local parts houses doing the running of light hardware.
Bottom line this how you build a M37 with a open wallet! $130k worth of man hours and parts.

The truck is being donated by Okoboji Classic Cars and sold as a charity auction for the Armed forces Foundation,Cessna Corp of Wichita Ks is also donating a Cessna L19 Bird Dog scout plane. They will be sold as a unit and we are hoping they do very well for the cause.

There are a couple pics of the build and finished with the Bird Dog. In my Gallery I have yet to figure out posting them in the form.

Thanks for looking and watch for it on Fox Sports in January !

Thanks for transferring those to the thread Brett. I am working from an IPad and it seems to be very difficult posting pictures with it! When you go into my gallery and click on one of these photos they do not come up unless you again click on the broken photo icon.
