Clip that holds on brake shoe

Starting to reassemble our M37's brakes, I find that one of the clips to hold the brake shoe in place is broken off. How does one fix this? They are riveted on. Anyone solved this problem before?

I ordered a takeoff one from one of the usual vendors (can't remember who). I cut off the old rivets, and attached the replacement with some Allen head machine screws and locknuts.

There are repair kits for these-I think I got mine from VPW.
