Spyder harness?

I see there are 4 and 5 wire harnesses available. The illustration in the parts book shows a four wire harness so what application is the five wire?

The five wire harness lets you connect the later style volt meter using the harness. The four harness had three power outs to the gauges, fuel, temp and oil pressure, and one power in from the ignition switch. The early ammeter used two wires on the front harness.
