upper radiator baffle

Post by m37jarhead »

Had my M37 at a show this weekend with the hood raised. Someone said I installed the upper
radiator baffle incorrectly. He said the leading edge of the sheet metal radiator baffle goes
BELOW the upper lip of the radiator guard. My baffle is on top of the guard.
TM9-8031-2/TO19-73-A-100 page 424 has a pic. but it not detailed enough to tell which
way is correct.
Anyone know which is correct?

Hi JB,

That guy was correct. The sheetmetal has a step for the guard to go over. If you look closely you'll notice the holes in the sheetmetal are a little bigger than the holes in the guard. When I installed it the way you did it looked like I needed flat washers under the bolt heads to cover the holes. I found the holes on the sides of the guard lined up better with their respective sheetmetal counterparts better when I installed the guard correctly (meaing over the sheetmetal top shroud).

regards,
bob
