Antyone live near Colorado Springs

I sold one of my M37's to a young fellow in Colorado Springs. It was a daily driver and has always run great. It ran fine for him for about 2 days, Now, from what he describes, it is misfiring. He knows nothing about engines as far as I can tell. (could not find the distributor cap)

I am not near Colorado but reading your thread made me wonder if maybe he just fouled a plug being that he has probably not yet learned the starting procedure that makes the truck happy :) .I know mine will foul if I don't get that choke off quick enough.

Colorado Springs is at a considerably higher altitude than is Denton, Texas. He may also have to fiddle with his carb settings to get it to run right where he is.

It could be the timing too. I live at 8500' and I had to severely advance my timing and fiddle with the idle mixture on my carb to get my truck running decent. A vacuum gauge really helped me get things right. Colorado Springs is at about 6000'.

A friend of mine fiddled with his timing (he did it by ear) and found that even at the (relatively) low altitude of Atlanta these beasties run better with the timing adjusted a bit off (can't remember which way) from the specifications.

That looks like the one - he was just talking this truck up on Steel Soldiers. Wonder why he's letting it go. Pretty quick turn around.

Hey -I just took a look. He bought that M101 trailer from Ft Carson this week!! In fact the photo still shows it in the GSA yard. Says he also has a M105 trailer. I recognize the apartment complex too. Wasn't this the guy who sold his M37 earlier in the year and regretted it? Maybe he got the move on/move out order from higher command?

I think he took it to a shop and got it running good. I am not sure why he is selling it so soon. I don't know what he gave for that trailer, but I know what I got for the truck, and I know what his transport cost was. I can tell you, that if he gets his reserve, he will make a little profit, but not much. Not counting the trailer cost.
If anyone wants an M37 that is mechanically perfect, this is the one. His description is totally honest.

I sent him an email regarding his truck, he had been discussing the truck running rough on the steel soldiers site - he said that all he did was put new plugs in and it runs alot better.

That makes me think that the plugs fouled, due to running rich at the high elevation out there.
