Gas Tank

Post by WarrenD »

Take out tank, free. You have to pick it up or pay for shipping. It's out of a generator trailer originally, only difference is an extra port on top for a mechanical fuel gauge. Inside is rough, looks like a good build up of varnish. Outside is decent, but tank is somewhat out of shape on the top. Top is billowed out, would have to be pressed or beaten back down. I know several of the screw retainers for the float, pick-up and vent lines are no good. May be more work than it's worth, thus the reason it's free. If nobody wants it, it'll likely go to the scrapper (maybe it belongs there?)

Sounds like a good candidate for sending to gastankrenu. Expensive, but you do this once and it's with you for a lifetime. Definitely doesn't need to be scrapped.

I have a tank in the truck now that was done by them, this is the take-out. I'd rather give it away than scrap it, thus the offer.

Warren,
Do you still have the tank, would you be able to post some pictures, where in CT do you live. I would hate to see the tank end up in the scrap yard.

That tank definitely looks like a good refurb candidate. We have repaired tanks that were far worse than this one appears.

Do you still have this tank? Been looking for one for a while. Truck I bought didnt come with one. I'd be willing to pay shipping. Any idea what it would cost? Zip is 70605.
