M101 in the garage.
My stepson and I moved the M101 into the garage Wednesday night. I am looking forward to working on it this winter. I plan to get it up on jackstands and pull the wheels this weekend, that is of course after I put front rotors and pads on the wifes jeep and a complete exhaust on my Honda...

Re: M101 in the garage.
Trailers are usually fun to restore because there is nothing to them. Of course you'll are bound by the rules of the internet to keep us posted with pictures....
It looks like you have a nice platform to work with.

Teardown begins
Thanks guys, I am looking forward to this project.
Joe, maybe we can get together this winter? I have to drop my radio off up in Berea soon, maybe I can swing by that day.
I managed to get the trailer up on jackstands and pull the wheels. All looks pretty solid. Sprayed down all the fasteners. Let the teardown begin!

Re: M101 in the garage.
Looks like a nice trailer Dave, good project for the winter. I started mine this past summer, The only thing that surprised me was that the box was made out of galvanized steel. I guess mine was replaced at some point.

David,
Looks like a good candidate for the rebuild process. Make sure to post plenty of pictures.

Re: M101 in the garage.
Yeah Dave...let me know. I'm sure we can work something out.
Looks like you have a good foundation to work with. I've worked with worse looking trailers in the past.

Re: M101 in the garage.
Like others have posted, that is a very nice trailer, you've got there. I'm looking at one that isn't too far away from me (isn't in as nice a shape as yours) 'think it might be an "M101A1" not the "M101". I'll have to re read the data plate on it again. Did these trailers carry spare tires? Were they mounted on the underside of the bed (like a modern pick-up truck)?

Re: M101 in the garage.
I seem to recall that the M101 had parking brake handles that paralleled the front bed panel, and the M101A1 had handles like yours, perpendicular
to the front bed panel? I know that my buddy Cabell Garbee's 1960 vintage M101 3/4-ton has the early handles... his trailer pic below
My '68 M101A1 has parking brake handles like yours... perpendicular to bed.

Re: M101 in the garage.
Matt,
Yes, mine is an M101A1 to be exact. There is a difference in the brake handle arrangment as Tanner described above. There was no spare stowage underneath.

Re: M101 in the garage.
Thanks, guys . Think the one I looked at was an "A1" variant.
