Water pump question
Long story short, I'm having my radiator flushed out and figured while it's out I'd check the status of the distribution tube. Shockingly, the tube is like brand new. However, I noticed that there was a lot of chunks of lead in the back, probably from a repair to the radiator(looks like a bullet hole, but who knows!) anyway, I also noticed a small rectangular piece of metal, thinking the worst, and being right, one of the impeller blades is broken off of the water pump. So my question is do I bite the bullet and replace it, or just use the pump as it is, assuming the other blades provide enough flow, and assuming that the rest of the impeller isn't cracked. I'm leaning toward just buying a replacement, but that money could certainly be used elsewhere! Any suggestions?
Re: Water pump question
I'd replace it-no need to wait for another blade to break off, and you'll have to replace the pump sooner or later, so why not now since you have it torn down....

Re: Water pump question
By all means replace it. OR you are just asking for bigger trouble down the road. I don't like redoing jobs and you will have to R and R the pump soon. Midwest Military has new ones. Just a few dollars more than you can get a rebuilt for.

Re: Water pump question
I would replace the pump and save yourself a headache later on.

Re: Water pump question
Ordered a new pump from John at Midwest, now if the guy would just get done with my damn radiator!
