Ammeters, Part # CC- E- 48458-M

Post by Carter »

I know these are not M37 meters but they show a Chrysler number, and an early patent date, Oct. 7 '19. Anyone know what ther are supposed to be used for? My friend Clark has about 50 and gave me 9 of them. I checked to see if they were for the WWII WC but numbers don't match and I don't have any other barts books to look in. Thanks.

Hello,

Can you post a photo showing the bottom of the dial face completely?

It is a panel flush mount unit normally found in a electronics panel, radio or test set.
They show up a lot in aircraft old NOS stock where they were commonly used in test sets.

Thanks Wes;

APPLICATION DATA TEST SET, ELECT. EQUIP.
Intresting, Clark found them at a scrap yard where they were headed for the shreader and gave the owner $5. for all which was 3 five gallon buckets full of them.

There should be an adjustment opening on the back.

A story I'd like to hear other than what I know already which is they came from Mechanicsburg Pa. Naval Ship's Parts Facility in a Property Disposal bid sale years ago. Now I need to figure out what to do with them.

Also on the vintage car and hot rod sites. I'm sure they'd love the logos and Chrysler markings. OR just hit all venues at once by putting them on E-greed.

I wonder where they were made. The backward "C" in Chrysler seems to indicate that they were not made in the U.S. An error like that should have been caught and corrected immediately if they were.

Only one box has the typo backwards "C". And then only on the rubber hand stamped boxes.
