Fair Price for a PTO (?)

Hello All,

I was wondering what a fair price would be for a N.O.S PTO, I was also under the impression that these are considerably rare and by doing a search could not come across another for sale in order to compare with to determine a good price. Anyone want to give me some input? PTO is still in box, making pictures rather difficult, but if necessary; I could attempt to get some.

I paid $300 about 5 years back for a double ended NOS pto and I believe those are a little harder to find than the single ended ones. It is worth what somebody will pay for it truthfully. I think I saw a used one on epay not too long ago for $150. It is worth at least $300 to start with in my opinion but then again an opinion is like a certain human body part as everybody has one !!

Consider this; even a genuine NOS will at the very least need seal replacement in order to be a serviceable unit because of the age and the types of seals that were used at that time. If surface rust has attacked areas like the shift shaft or bearings, then it is no more than a common take off unit that will need a total rebuild. A good rebuildable pto is worth $300, a top notch NOS unit, at least $500-$600. Now you will have to decide which catagory yours falls into. A US pto is not extremely rare, just somewhat.

Well I got lucky and scored one yesterday with shifter and drive shaft for a buy it now price of $180. Again, REAL lucky-it's all about the timing for these things....

I have one that has an out put shaft that goes front and back. I have never seen one in an M37 I wonder if mine was for a civi Power Wagon? It came with a bunch of M37 parts that someone ditched.

Those were in a very few select application M37's, but were common in the civ PW's.

Any idea what the M37 ones were used for? Must have been to power something out the rear of the M37?????
