Greetings all,
I did a quick glance at the archives but didn't see this so if it has been pointed out before, just disregard.
OK, the rubber bumpers that sit at the end of the check arm inside the door can be substituted with a near identical item found elsewhere. I had some old grommets for the headlight base (the 4 with the large groove in them that fit between the base and fender; listed as PN 7351352). I noticed they were about the same size as the door check arm bumpers. I cut the groove portion out of the middle giving me two bumpers from one grommet and fitted them down over the arm with some silicone spray for lube. I left the round headlight "axle" bolt hole in them but I suppose they could be cut out in rectangular form. Anyway, same thickness and diameter as the arm bumpers.
So, if you have any old grommets laying around or you are about to replace the ones on your truck and they aren't totally dried out yet, you can re-purpose them if needed.

- The top bumper is the headlight base-fender grommet half, the bottom is an OE bumper for comparison. Disregard the two grommets at the top left, they were plan B and not used.

Re: Door Check Arm Bumper Sub
That is a good one Mike, I'd go one better, use a new one cut in half, then it will last twice as long!
