Charging a 24v system

Post by slk »

Is there a correct way to charge the batterys in my M37??? Do I need to separate them and charge as 2 separate batterys like normal 12v system?

Thanks

You can leave them together and charge them as a normal 24 volt system. With a 24 volt charger of course. Or you can separate them and charge each battery with a 12 volt charger.

Since they should always be treated as a mated pair and when you buy new ones you should buy two of the same model and batch. The idea is to keep their electrical properties (potential) as close to the same as possible. They will have a tendency as they age and one battery becomes a tad weaker than the other to chase each other down (discharge) over long unused periods. I prefer to charge them with a 24 volt charger as a pair.
