Paper Models
Hey guys! Remember the paper M37 model that was made available to us? I downloaded it and my son put it together for me. Looks nice sitting on top of my computer, even though he didn't get the front fenders aligned quite right.
Anyway, there's another paper model available for anyone who wants to torture himself. Go to www,steelsoldiers.com, click on "forums" and check out Earnie's post entitled "Free M35A2."
It's a 26-page PDF file of a paper deuce! It is so detailed that it even has a complete engine, the air tanks for the brake system, a pedestal-mounted 50-cal, all troop seat components, and full (removable) cab and cargo canvas. Since the cab canvas is removable, obviously it has to have a complete interior, so that's included too. I downloaded it and saved it on my computer in the same folder as the M37 model.
If anyone wants either model, I'll be happy to e-mail them to you.

Re: Paper Models
Can you post a link? I looked and searched to no avail.
Re: Paper Models
Well, I tried sending it to Gerry via PM and tried posting it here, but couldn't manage to figure out how to get it inserted.
Here's a link for those of you who are looking for it:
http://4shared.com/dir/12160448/f2e1c2c9/modelik.html
It's about halfway down the first page and listed as:
[modelik 2001 02]GMC M35 A2 2.5 ton Cargo Truck.pdf
There is a ton of other neat models there. Happy hunting!

Re: Paper Models
No. The M37 was from a site called Green Tree, but it's not available as a free download any more. They still have it, but you have to pay for it. (They offer a free model from time to time, and I downloaded it when it was the featured model.) Drop me an e-mail at charles.briggs@comcast.net and I can send it to you. For free!

Re: Paper Models
I've had several requests, now, for this paper model and have sent them right out.
What I forgot to tell you is that card stock works best. (I printed the parts out on card stock and the instructions on plain paper.)
Build it, "drive" it, and just plain have fun with it! I "drive" mine every day.

Re: Paper Models
Hey, T! I don't have a pic of the paper model. I haven't figured out how to post the model itself to the forum, either. If you want one, send me an e-mail and I'll send it to you.

Re: Paper Models
I couldn't get my fat fingers to build the M37 one... Think I'll stick with the real thing for now but Lifer does give me an Idea perhaps I should print some out and give them to the kids to put together...

Re: Paper Models
You can load PDF files from your computer as an attachment but the size limit is 512K. The M37 paper model is 1033K.

Re: Paper Models
Hey guys check out the M37 fire trucks that were done and posted on a web site dedicated to Air Force fire fighters. Here is a link http://sites.google.com/site/usaffireprotection/
They are all PDF and should down load for anyone who has adobe reader. print them on 60 lb card stock that is available at any office supply store. I have built several paper models and they are fun and look pretty good.. If anyone is interested I can post a few how to build hints and tips or direct you to some online tutorials. But first get a sharp xatco knife and small sharp scissors oh and an empty ball point for forming creases.
