The Light O.D. Green Paint No...

The Light O.D. Green Paint NO.

I'm getting really close to being ready to pull parts and start painting... The truck had three colors on it Original Strata Blue... The Second was the Light O.D. Green and the last was the Dark OD. Green...

As I have never really been a fan of the Strata Blue growing up near March AFB and all my truck numbers pointing to the use of the truck during the Watts riots in Los Angeles I'm thinking about going with Gillispie's AJP WWII SEMI-GLOSS or the 24087 SEMI-GLOSS I think the latter would have been more correct the Darker OD green that is... The truck I plan to keep as original as possible... I know... I know... there aren't that many strata blue trucks out there... and that thought has crossed my mind a couple of times going that way but being that the vehicle was deployed for a state side police action and it doesn't look like it was in it's Strata blue for very long I want to go with the OD... This color choice has caused a division in the household...

Just guessing here, but the truck probably got transfered from the Air Guard to the Army Guard. So making it OD should be just fine.

I believe 24087 was introduced by the Army around 1954. Earlier trucks would have been factory painted 2430 which Gillespie Late WWII is closest match.
