Draft Pad Installation Tip

Post by vtdeucedriver »

I dont remember if I had ever shared this on here. I

I am sure you guys have fought putting new draft pads on the clutch and brake pedal. Well we had a little trick at a airline that I used to work for that was almost a similar type of deal.

If you take your draft pad, Soak it with CRC Electromotive Cleaner. It reacts to the rubber and makes it swell and become REALLY PLYABLE. Do it quick and put it in place and once the CRC evaporates, the rubber retruns to its normal state.

give it a try next time.

I remember using rubbing alcohol to do the same for the rubber tubing on my wristrocket as a kid. Wonder if that might do the same for the draft pads? Not sure what the solvent is in this CRC cleaner....

CRC is the brand name, and its their Electro-motive Cleaner. Go to any good auto parts store, they will have it. I dont know if other electrical cleaners will work but THIS DOES!!! It is also a GREAT WASP KILLER!!!
Leaves no residue to clean and will KILL them in MID FLIGHT!!!!!

I use this stuff more as bee killer than its intended use!!
